Part of Hostačov 59: First Summer
Two weeks at Hostačov during the height of summer. A residential co-working programme through the first week, a curated weekend convening at the centre, and a contemplative retreat closing the arc. With quieter residency days throughout, including the midweek between the two weekends.
People working across AI, governance, philanthropy, systems change, research, education, culture, and inner development, sharing the same place long enough for conversations to become collaborations, friendships, and occasionally entirely new directions.
Part residency, part temporary intellectual village.
The two weeks alternate intentionally between open residency time and denser shared moments.
The first week runs in a light-touch, community-organised mode, in collaboration with EA Czechia. People work remotely during the day, host sessions for each other, cook together, walk, read, think, and inhabit the château at a slower pace. Some days are quiet and focused. Others become unexpectedly social. The shape depends largely on who is present.
The weekend in the middle (31 July to 2 August) is the structural centrepiece: Wayfinding Toward Steadier Ground, a curated convening with around 60 people. Saturday is structured. Sunday is emergent.
The midweek between events (3 to 5 August) stays open in the same light-touch residency mode for those who continue through. Quieter days, good for integration and rest.
The second week shifts into a quieter, more contemplative register: the Integral Altruism Retreat, organised separately by the Integral Altruism stewards.
Each part has its own distinct tone and audience. You can come for any part, or for the whole arc.
In collaboration with EA Czechia
An open residential week for people thinking seriously about the questions this moment is raising. AI and institutions. Complex systems. Long-term governance. Research and culture. Inner development. Civilisational resilience. New forms of coordination and community.
Some participants stay quietly focused on their own work. Others organise discussions, working groups, salons, or collaborative experiments. We're intentionally designing for a high-trust environment with unusually interesting surface area between people.
Light structure, plenty of openness. No packed schedules. Enough coherence to anchor things; enough room for the right things to emerge.
The week is co-organised with EA Czechia and includes people from the EA community alongside others working on adjacent questions. A good fit if you want focused work time, quieter days to recharge, or more time at Hostačov before the busier weekend.
