Part of Hostačov 59: First Summer
For two weeks in June, Hostačov opens for its first summer arc — anchored by two weekends and held loosely together by everything in between.
The first weekend is Brigada (June 4–7): hands in the soil, work on the grounds, building things together. The second is Roots & Futures (June 12–14): a curated weekend on regeneration, education, and systems change, co-hosted with Vladimir Dolejš and Nikol Cvrčková.
Around and between them, the château is inhabited. People will be cooking, working, walking the grounds, sitting by the fire. Some come for one weekend, some for both, some for the whole arc. Stay for as much of it as fits.
The orienting theme across the two weeks is regeneration in a broad sense — of land, of attention, of the institutions and practices that make a longer future possible. Less as a topic to debate, more as a shared register the days are tuned to.

June 4–7 — Brigada Four days of working on the place. Mornings on outdoor projects: building outdoor showers and basic infrastructure, clearing parts of the grounds, wood work, light maintenance. Afternoons and evenings yours — read, walk, swim, talk. No prior skills needed. The work gets done in good company.
June 8–11 — Open residency The middle. Cowork and live in the château. Days unprogrammed. Evenings shared by whoever shows up. Good space for people who want a few days of focus before the weekend lands.
June 12–14 — Roots & Futures The curated weekend. Regeneration, education, systems change.
June 15–17 — After For people who want to stay past the weekend and let it settle. Unprogrammed. Smaller numbers. Slower pace.

People working with land, soil, and place. Educators rethinking what schools could be. Researchers and founders carrying questions about technology and the long arc of the present. Contemplatives, artists, parents, organisers. Friends of friends.
